Following the decision by Embroiderers' Guild UK to no longer support their branches, Durham City Branch ceased to exist on 30 April 2021.

However, we stitchers are a resilliant bunch determined to continue being active. We formed an independent stitch group "Take a Stitch 2 Durham" with an official start of 1st May 2021.

We now have over 50 members in our group. The committee feel this should be our capacity and have decided to pause accepting new members and operate a waiting list - we will review our numbers at the beginning of the next stitch year in October 2024.

Visitors may still attend one meeting free of charge with a view to joining the waiting list.
